Campaign

LandWe plan to construct a multi-storey building on our land in Leveriza St, Malate, Manila. The building will be comprised of three parts including a crisis center, drop in center and training center. Each part will be designed to ensure maximum functionality, efficiency and safety.

Crisis Center

Emergency/short term housing for children who have been abused, exploited, abandoned, neglected or trafficked.

  • 10 boys and 10 girls for maximum 6 months each while the social worker helps them find a better longer term solution.
  • Children participating in non-formal education at home and other activities aimed at helping them heal and recover from their difficult experiences.

Drop-in Center

A place for children living or working on the street to come and take a break, rest, wash and play.

  • A social worker available to provide assistance as needed.
  • Activities provided with the aim of improving children’s ability to look after themselves and break out of the cycle of poverty.
  • Headquarters for the Mobile Unit team which visits children on the street and provides case management, alternative education and health assistance.

Training Center

A venue where people can learn and develop new skills and a way to generate income and make the whole center sustainable.

  • Training facilities for use by Bahay Tuluyan and for rent.
  • Run with young people as part of Bahay Tuluyan’s Independent Living Skills Program, where the young people work in the center, gain valuable skills and earn the money they need to live.
  • All proceeds earned from this project will go back into the programs and services of Bahay Tuluyan.
