Through the Participatory Research Program, children are trained to be able to gather, analyze and synthesize information relating to children in their communities. This program evolved through the need for Bahay Tuluyan staff to be informed about the issues and problems facing children on the street in order to be able to respond appropriately and quickly to their needs. The children in the program are given training in the skills necessary to be able to conduct research including interviewing, documentation, recording and analysis as well as the requisite knowledge including children’s rights, children’s issues and paralegal training. As children themselves, the Participatory Research Team find that children on the street or in the community respond more readily to them than they may do to adults. After completing their training, the Participatory Research Team is involved in the conduct of research studies.
The results of the Participatory Research Team's studies will be available
