FESTIVAL
The festival will run from 9:00am – 5:00pm, on the 26th of January 2008, with a concert beginning at 3:00pm. The festival will be held at Museo Pambata, on Roxas Blvd, Manila.
The concert will include performances by artists Noel Cabagon, and Cynthia Alexander and dramatization by PILAK child advocates, directed by PETA.
Approximately 40 booths will be set up around the venue. Once the festival commences, the children will be free to wander around to different booths and enjoy the activities / services that are on offer. Some of the booths include:
- Hair Spa – removing lice & hair washing
- Manicure & Pedicure – washing hands and cutting nails
- Medical – wound dressing / medical mission
- Dental – check up / tooth brushing
- Information booths – for each GO / NGO partner
- Sports, physical activities, games
- Creative arts – drawing, painting, music
- Children’s rights education – using puppets, stories, drama, interaction, animation
- Environment – plants, recycling etc
The participants to be targeted to be involved in the festival are:
- children living or working on the street
- former street children
- 0 – 18 years old
- male and female
- from Metro Manila
