Bahay Tuluyan believes that in order to promote the rights of children, it is important not only to work with individual children at the micro scale but also to actively promote children’s rights in the wider community. Consequently, we are involved in various advocacy campaigns. We believe that without change at a societal level, the problems facing children in the country will only grow and intensify.

At all levels, Bahay Tuluyan maintains that children are active participants in planning and implementing advocacy projects.

Bahay Tuluyan advocates using a variety of different forms & forums:
  • Community Theater - Performances and public forums
  • Festivals - Coordinating large festivals such as the Children's Rights Festival.
  • Cross cultural social justice education - Advocating through forums such as KidsView.
  • Dialogue, Consultations & Workshops - Discussing issues and work on creating combined platforms for action.
  • Representation - We represent children in a number of working groups, lobby groups and networks.
  • National events - We get involved in a range of national advocacy events such as International Street Children’s Day.
