Advocacy

Understanding the critical importance of public awareness, policy change and visibility, Bahay Tuluyan is frequently involved in advocacy campaigns in relation to children’s issues. It believes that without change at a societal level, the problems facing children in the country will only grow and intensify.

Some campaigns in which Bahay Tuluyan is involved are:

  • Campaign against Child Trafficking
  • Global March Against Child Labor
  • Blow a Whistle Campaign to stop violence against children
  • Coalition to stop Child Detention through Restorative Justice
  • Clean up the World campaign
  • Prevention of Sexual Abuse and Exploitation
  • Kids'View

Kids' View

Bahay TuluyanKids'view is a campaign started by Bahay Tuluyan Philippines Australia in 2005 aimed at raising awareness amongst Australian children about children’s issues in the Philippines. The focus of the campaign is an annual advocacy tour and youth conferences attended by child advocates from Bahay Tuluyan. For more information about Kids'view, please visit www.bahaytuluyan.org/au

Kids'view aims to:

  • increase awareness of poverty and the struggles faced by many children in the Philippines.
  • empower children to respond actively in alleviating the burden of poverty.
  • provide an opportunity to listen and learn as we accept our position and responsibilities as members of a global community.
  • raise funds to allow Bahay Tuluyan to house and educate abused and exploited street children
