Recognizing the importance of whole community participation in the respect, protection and fulfillment of children’s rights, Bahay Tuluyan is actively involved in providing training to community members about issues relating to children and children’s rights.

Children's Rights courses

Bahay Tuluyan provides a range of short courses for people involved with or working with children. These courses are aimed at developing understanding about the rights guaranteed to all children and how these are translated into practice. Training is available for all members of the community including NGO workers, police, parents, students, teachers, local government officials and children.

Developing a new understanding of children through the framework of the UNCRC - Short Course for Teachers
Course description This course is designed to give teachers an understanding of the UNCRC and how it affects their role as teachers. The course uses creative methodologies allowing participants to apply theory into practice immediately and in an appropriate context.
Length of course 3 days

Fundamentals of the UNCRC for NGO workers
Course description This course is designed for social workers, program managers, educators and other NGO workers involved in the field of children's rights. By the end of the course the participants will have a good understanding of the 'nuts and bolts' of the UNCRC and its application in Filipino law.
Length of course 5 days

A short course on the UNCRC for Barangay Officials
Course description This course is designed to give Barangay Officials a chance to develop their knowledge and understanding about the UNCRC. By the end for the course the participants will have increased capacity to make their barangays child-friendly and to implement their Barangay Council for the Protection of Children.

UNCRC & children in the Philippines Context
Course description Designed particularly for volunteers, students and people new to the field of children's rights, this course gives an overview of the situation of children in the Philippines context. It links the situations facing children with the framework of the UNCRC and Filipino legal system.
